Luxuries are products that are not commonly affordable due to elevated price... they are superfluous and are not a necessity. Prostituition comes under these factors alright...
But luxuries are also highly sought after and the show of affording them shows ones elevated status and prestige... does the ability to afford expensive prostitutes show elevated status?

im using it to determine the elasticity of the supply curve. and im doing a report on prostitution-------this is ur explanation.
What u need to know is, whether prostitution is a luxury or not, and whether we can contribute good reasons to say it is a luxury, is NOT relevant to the supply curve elasticity.
Supply curve elasticity is NOT affected by whether the good/ service is luxury or not.
Supply curve elasticity means how much supply is changed if the price change, and it is dependant on time (less time=more inelastic, more time=more elastic) and capability/ capacity (if excess capacity, can produce more quantity quickly=more elastic. Full capacity=more inelastic). It is not related to the goods/ service being a luxury or not. Unless if u are talking about the demand curve elasticity. -

2)Foreign prositute could very possibly be cheap labour which will help reducing cost.
3)Foreign prositute could be an expert which could share their expertise yieling great benefits to the local country.
4)Sex is a form of necesscities which means that it is high in demand.
5)Prositution=sex which is a form of necessities, and necessitites are not price sensitive as even though price rises,you still need it.
6)It helps to promote tourism.

The cost to what? There is very little monetry cost involved with prositution. No marketing involved. It's a necesscity if you go without it, you'll die. You should know that very well.

Yeah, maybe the hotel rooms and all the other stuff that goes with it. But a lot of the money that comes from prositution is undetected.

Nah, sex would factor into Maslow's Pyramid only insofar as it serves at the psychological level, that is, sex to procreate.
