but there's very very few pretty ones, and worse still, all of these prettier ones all very boorish and rough one. phucking turns me off. KNN!

also, overnight duties/shift work increases the risk of cancer, so government surely must do something right? -

yes, there is a purpose. truth is that in order to take part in the economic boom in china, even our true-blooded HuaZhong students dont make the cut in cracking the business opportunities in china. you need the locals who understands the cultural nuiances, para-language and how things work in china. more chinese PRs means more human resources to make inroads to the nucleus of china opportunities, wealth gets created and delivered in SingaporeOriginally posted by Gackt247:I have no problems serving NS. I just feel Singapore sucks up too much to FTs and are neglecting the welfare of their own people. Girls can be conscripted, but restrict their duties to bases or hospitals. If they wanna go to war they are free to sign on. It isn't fair that a Singapore male is born cursed with a duty to the regime, while his female counterpart has unbridled freedom. If the situation doesn't change, I advocate male infanticide. After all, female babies are cuter to behold.

NS= waste of time. 1 year of training is good enough. Basically, when we're posted to our units, all we ever dream of is the weekend and to idle whenever we can.

To tell the truth, I prefer to look after the criminally insane than to pass my SOC. I injured my heel just before enlistment while playing a bit of football, but the medical corps didn't find it serious enough. Why then is so much money spent on attracting China students to study here?
Why isit that in school I see China students all around and in NS i can hardly find even one?
Where do they go after their state sponsered studies?
And why the poor pay? I mean if you increase the pay of NS men, is it not like sort of returning the money to the citizens of the country. Where is the loss of money then?
2years is not a short time. We are mentioning Years here, not months. Especially when we are not the privileged class that have parents in high places. Life is not so easy and I doubt those policy makers have gone through the life of just a man.
Do not blame us for being so Non-commital.
For the record, I am serving my NS.

Everyone can say that after they ORD 'oh, last time actually not bad, learn alot and blah blah.' But then if I would to ask you to go back and serve again as a NSF are you going to tell me yes.? Do you even consider this scenario.
Btw, read that 20% of University students are Foreigners, are 20% of the SAF foreigners? -

The fact remains that if you were made to be the goverment, were you really abolish NS system? Think logically.
As to whether I will go back to serve again, I will say no. One NS 'experience' is enough and it will stay with me forever. Be it good or bad, take it in your own strife, learn something out of it.
Life doesn't revolve around $$$. There are sure to be things that $ can't buy, friends and experience.
Lastly, all unversities in the world are going globally and are vying for talents. This is the current trend and cannot be reverse. Actually you need not worry, as long as your grade meets the cut-off of the university, there is no reason why the place will be offer to foreigner instead of you.
