to the girls here, what are your views on our national servicemen? When you see a soldier in uniform on the bus and the only seat available is next to him, will u rather stand? Cos i heard of this theory. No girl will ever sit next to a soldier in uniform on bus, reason being uniform=smelly after chiong sua and all that. (Guys don't laugh, the girls don't know.) Do girls really think that way? Heard my old csm say, in the early days a man in uniform was respected by all...food cheaper, movies cheaper everything cheaper, it was a noble sacrifice....but looking at society now, seems that our men in green are shunned by many...

thats cause Taiwan almost everyday there's a risk of war, so they appreciate their soldiers more i think...but in SG...it's all peaceful, everybody takes the soldiers for granted...but i think some of the older generation appreciates our servicemen...coz whenever i'm at this kopitiam tar bao food, the uncle will always serve uniformed personnel first..even if its a long queue. I tot now NS is sin-nang liao.. compare to the past -

Why do ppl complain so much abt NS but refuse to do something? online petition? or even better protest regularly to the governing bodies?

I dun mind serving NS having served my 2.5 year sentence already.
The reason why I call it a sentence is because whenever I wear my uniform, I can understand what the yellow ribbon campaign is for. -

if you are handsome guess the girl wont mind, you are less me face full of pimple and look like a pig girls shun you far far... its happened to me during NS .. I sat to a girl when I board a bus .. the girl immediately stand up and walk away ... B itch!
