Apparently the govt in SG tries to maintain social cohesion (and minimize overt racism) by brute force, and that too only when it apparently benefits itself economically. So two racists who ranted against Malays got jailed, someone who does against chinese or indians will be dealt with similarly, and I sincerely hope someone who does so to the white man will be dealt with likewise. However, 'thai' and 'bangla's are probably off the list. Anybody can get away with racist comments against them. Especially for the 'bangla's, it seems.
I find it funny that in white man's land, the white man is discriminated against not only by all OTHER minorities but by whites themselves. Whites can not make fun of other ethnicities; they have to apportion a certain percentage of their jobs, university/college seats etc etc etc to minorities, white countries have to allow an incessant flow of third world colored migrants, and have to tolerate all kinds of taunts and insults as long as it's done by a minority race guy.
As soon as a white guy does any of the above to a colored guy, or demands that white guys be allowed incessant opportunities for FREE in third world colored folks' country, they are 'racist'. No doubt about it.
More so, in the context of Singapore, as long as these poor(er) third-world nationals alone are exploited, made fun of, taunted, jeered, hurled racist insults or even denied service (not to mention the tonnes of racist jokes about them by the chinese, malays and indians alike) it's A O K.
If a white guy does anything remotely resembling the above, he is IMMEDIATELY denounced in public. Look at Ron Atkinson, his nice joke about the beauty (or the lack of it) of a certain race of woman had him make all kinds of apologies.
Does any Singaporean, Japanese (who are mostly inveterate xenophobes and racists), Hong Kongers, Chinese or Koreans have to make any of these concessions? Noooooo..... why? Bcoz they are colored, they have been wronged, so it's now their prerogative to be as mean to even poorer folks as possible. Only the whites can't do it either to these orientals or to other coloreds. -
the sooner the white nations realize the fallacy of allowing equal opportunities to these slitty eyed yellow conmen, the better for humanity (that often times excludes mongoloids).
