SMRT should use magnetic levitating trains

  Cruise what cruise? There aren't 2 MRT stations that are far apart enuf for a maglev train to reach top speed.
  
  Maglev only economical for long distance train journeys. Like from SG to M'sia or thailand.
  
  Anyway, this technology is not cheap, not say want to change then change.

  who says it cant be done. Take all the minister's pay add up and u can get the project done.

  Because the stations are not far apart enough, the magna lev trains have to go slower than their potential. And when they go slower than what they're built for, they run at a lower efficiency. You put in the same amount of cost and yet get less than what you aim to get. Not good.

  i tot its super super super expensive...
  something like the bullet train in japan right?
  
  nahz....not worth it in singapore...from 1 station to another...roughly take about 5 minutes...which is actually quite ok already...why bother?

  i think they should build express trains using this.. North to south..
  
  East to west..
  
  and a central station..
  
  East to west about 60-70km..
  north to south about 40-50km..
  
  it will really decrease the traffic of the morning rushes and evening rushes..
  
  be mindful that there are some pple who work in east and live in west..
  
  30km takes 7min.. a journey from jurong west to east coast.. maybe 10-12min?
  if take the EW line.. the journey is like 40-45min?
