3rd racist blogger caught for comparing malays with rodents

A third person has been charged under the Sedition Act with promoting
feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races of Singapore.
Gan Huai Shi, 17, faces seven charges of posting racist remarks on his blog site.
On September 12, two bloggers were charged with sedition for posting racist comments online.
Their case will be heard in court again on September 21.
The three are the first bloggers to be charged in Singapore.
Lawyers said the last time the Sedition Act was invoked was at least 10 years ago.
First time offenders can be fined up to $5,000 or jailed up to three years or both.
Subsequent offenders can be jailed up to five years and have their seditious publications forfeited and destroyed. - CNA/de -

what they are really after are people who make remarks against the gahment. but if they sue people for libel they will be criticised by foreign media. so they start with racist remarks first, as warning. to show you that if they really want they can get you any time.

I have also read the blog from this third guy. It was a disgrace ah, it was full of childish banter, thinking he wouldn't get caught, in fact he even mocked those whom threathen to report him..i'd say serve him right!
I think that regardless of race, racists should be clamped down against, even though all we see are chinese people whom have racist tendencies against malays, similar harsh actions should be taken on malays or indians or angmohs who do the same, to another race.
That being said, it would be harder to find minority races aiming other races, as there would be the matter of simple proportions leading to less probability of such happenings. And another issue, is that racist are usually not that brave, especially those based online, they almost normally would be those whom cower under the anonymity of a majority. -
