For those who have not been to ang moh countries yet
Western-style chinese food is cooked in such a way to suit the western palate, i find some of their cusines extremly "devoided of palatability" sometimes. Our Singaporean chinese food still kicks BUTT!
Cutlery:
Usually they do not use chopsticks and spoon but rather a knife and a fork, the knife is actually considered barbaric to have on the table according to the chinese.
Appetizers, yes Chinese food places in Western countries start with appetizers, usually
either
1)Spring roll
2)Hot and sour soup
3)Wanton soup
4)Egg-drop soup
5)Corn-soup with chicken i think(This one is more of Australian chinese food style)
and obviously all cooked to cater western tastebuds
Main course:
Note:You will find some extremely corny names here
A few examples
1)General tsao's Chicken with rice or fried rice(You have a choice)
2)Chicken chow mein(Dont believe, the vegetable proportion outnumbers the chicken portion like hell)Its more like a Chicken salad with meagre strands of noodles.
3)Chop suey- stir-fry vegetables with either pork, chicken, beef..
4)Sweet and sour pork with either rice or fried rice(The sauce can sometimes be PINK in colour

)
Overall, my review of the main course is.Meat is cooked to Western expectations, the meat is tough and is cooked like medium-rare style be it pork, chicken or beef.Whatever Sauce they serve you tends to be MORE salty, sweeter or very rich/thick compared to our chinese style food here. They like to sprinkle seasame over the sauce.Sometimes when you order chinese food, it can either be individually dish or shared amongst your family members/friends.Their Takeaway box(They call it takeout)Is a small but not wide box which is tall.Of course, their portion is danm bloody big
Dessert:
Fortune cookies

(Just break it into half and a slip of paper with your "fortune" will be written on it)
