Anyone took O level POA before

I'm confused on where to do my working during the exam, IÂ’m under the impression that all working must be done separately on foolscap papers, Is this true? But then I also don't know whether they will provide us with foolscap papers or not.Then what about about questions that donÂ’t require us to use the accounting sheets can they be done on the foolscap?
Anyone who has gone for the exam, pls help me. -

anyway, do the whole stuff first, den below the whole thing, u just have some space dedicated to the workings
or u could do the workings as u're doin the tables and etc
eg depreciation = 10% of purchase
depreciation ( $10,000 x 10%) 1000

just make sure ur working and ur answer for that question are together...
dun need to have a separate sheet of paper.. a fresh page will do that is if u're havin all those workin at the end of the answers.

k.. ure in luck.. i took POA in 2003. was such a breeze >> A1 <<
what u can do if u want to do rough workings is to use all those A/C.
if m not wrong, they give u loose sheets of a/c paper.. i dont care and used up quite a lot on rough works alone..
still, actually the more tricky parts is the Depreciation Questtion, Straight Line or Reducing Balence methods..
other than that, theres not much rough work to do..
one tip: dont worry if the totals doesnt tally.. theres no marks for the same totals.. marks are given when u put in the correct value into the correct column, ie Debit or Credit..
heard the syllabus had since changed.. to make it difficult.. thats nasty..!
oh.. and yes, try ask ur teacher for the Specimen Paper. its very useful.. -

i took POA last year for o'levels... but i did'nt turn up for the paper so i dunno wad u do in exmas...

Hey! I thought the syllabus already changed in 2003,since most students were avoiding the 1 mark 2 mark questions in the paper they decided to make it all into complusory MCQ questions.Anyway thanks for the tips -
OMG!!! POA... I took mine way back in 1985... skipped 70% of my classes (Sec 3,4,5) the classes which I did attended ... I mostly slept through... but somehow or rather I always managed to score well for the subject.. maybe because subconciously I listened and understood enough of the subject to do well and probably because POA awards you points even if you don't get your numbers rite as long as your entries in the correct places! lol!!
Anyway... I can't really remember doing workings on another paper or fullscap... coz I finished my O' level POA Exam in 30 mins. Not because I'm a genius!! But because I had to attend subordinate court for littering on that very morning! Btw.. I only managed to get a B4 for my effort... or should I say no effort!
Bottom line is... try to listen (not just hear) to your teacher's explaination and guidance... get the 'Principles' correct ... you'll definitely breeze through it.

Current POA format is:
Paper 1
30 MCQ questions 1 hour
Paper 2
Section A 4 questions compulsory
Section B 2 question choose one.
What working that you need to do on other paper
You can use calculator for calculations, other than that theres no need for rough working unless you count accounts that the questions do not require you to open. In this case, you can just do them on the actual answer paper. No bonus marks, but no minus marks oso..
