Is Kovan a heritage area?

The area where Heartland mall/ Kovan MRT stands now interlink with hougang. The houses there are private property and some old school churches are found within them like Our Lady of Lourdes school, St. Gabriels and The Church of the nativity of Virgin Mary, Serangoon Shopping centre, former Serangoon sec school (dilapidated building still standing) and some Chinese/buddhist temples
I know rich people mostly older generation millionaires of the LKY era stay here and area is quite big if u include the Serangoon Gardens area too. Anyone knows if URA wan to claim these areas or leave them to be?
Is it part of punggol 21 plans? -
Church Of The Nativity Of The Blessed Virgin Mary is a National Monument.
Now check this out:
Kovan, along Serangoon Road still has a few old houses standing.
Also is the Jiu Huang Da Di Temple along Upper Serangoon Road

The old pic is old hougang central, that's where the old montfort boys school founded 1916 is.

The t shaped building beside the church is montfort boys school founded 1916, its new location is hougang ave 8.

The area quite big with concentrated privaate housing. If u take Serangoon gardens area into the picture it is big already... -
There is one really long road that separates that area and serangoon gardens, its called yio chu kang road. St Anne's Church in Punggol has history longer than the New Town. But I dunno if the current building is original. -
the whole chunk of land all the way from kovan to bedok looks more like some ulu part of malaysia than singapore. imo we should give all these places away to m'sia in return for a couple of billions.
