Bianca. I am very fluent in Hokkien myself, having learned that since I was young...and I dun see myself as being uncool when I speak it. In fact people think that it is unique I can speak so many languages (I can speak up to 5, including Hokkien. I can listen up to 6 )

Speak as tho ya takin da oral exam for practicin N always watch ya grammar N pronounciation!! A tinge of american accent makes it a fantabulous finish to ya quest to speakin with class.. it's always good ta speak wif a rich voice N be confident whn conversin in english.. Use N showcase ya superb vocab too.. tht's if ya have it.. Important.. i repeat dont use hokkien unless absolutely necessary..
Speaking in American accent will not make you look or sound cool, it will only make you sound pretentious. In fact even though I am in US, I refrain from speaking in American accent unless it is necessary (when people don't understand when I speak in my normal accent). Most people can understand me here, some even think it is unique and will start asking where I am from. It makes for a great conversation opener.

Lol, do we all need to have the Jap hairstyle to be cool? Then wun it be overrated soon? I have rebonded hair, I like my hair so far and I do not think it makes me look uncool. It is all up to personal preference, nothing looks uncool if you have the confidence to carry it out. Even a bowl hairstyle can look cool on a guy if he has the confidence and (humor esp) to carry it out.

Anyway, cool is not all about your attires. I believe as long as you dress reasonably and look presentable, that is good enuff. You dun need to resort to buying branded stuff just to look cool.
