Well, he makes more than $270 per second, or more than 950k per hour.
What he makes in an hour, most people do not make in their lifetime.
So what if he lives to work? The difference is he ENJOYS his work, his work is his PASSION and his thrill in life. Obviously making more money for himself is not a consideration anymore. In fact, when you reach that superduper rich status, money is no longer a major motivating factor in work. -

There used to be 1 joke - if Bill Gates drops few hundred dollars on the street, he won't bother to pick it up. As picking it up would spend him few seconds, which will be more than those few hundred dollars already. -

Yes. Even if he quit his job, he still have shares in Microsoft which will still earns him a % of what Microsoft earns. look at him, hes only 49 and yet his face is so wrinkled and hes full of white hair.
he may be rich but he doesn't have any time to enjoy it. bet he hardly spends any time with his children at all. even if he wanted to just retire he can't just give up microsoft like that.
