  sheng siong from what i know, cuts out the middlemen..
  
  they can mark up the stuff and still be able to undercut all other supermarkets and hypermarts.. and that is a competitive advantage the other supermarkets and even the wet markets cannot overcome..
  
  heck! if they can sell prawns at a lower price than the wet market, for the same quality, and still throw in free gifts like a bottle of peanut oil or ketchup, won't you go there?
