Hospitals turning to NKF ???

last night, the news appealed to public to donate blood.............for FREE (to my astonishment)!!
in other countries, people are paid when they donate blood, FYI!!
while hospitals' bills are as high as prices of dzi beads, why must we give blood for FREE, right ornot?? I propose a min sum of $50 be given for each pack of blood a person donate!!

Water is not free. Electricity, gas, telecom, transportation same too.
So why should blood be given free to hospitals who make 5-6 figures
from their patient with it? They should pay for it. -
if we don donate for free. be prepared that oni the rich can get blood in singapore. and in a case when disaster strikes, who will lose out? the poormen.
by donating blood for free, we can ensure that everyone in singapore can have quality medical benefits without burning a hole in out pockets. besides blood donors got priority in the even that they need blood. donating blood should be to save lives not to make money. -

If ever a person needs treatment from hospital, or even stay in hospital for a night for more observation in the event of donating blood, will he be billed?
I have seen such case, but dont know he got kanna billed or not. -

If you ever lost your mobile phone and I found it, and you ask for it back. I'll won't return it to you for anything less than 500 bucks. I heard, if you've no $$$ for treatment, the doctor will just leave you along the hospital corridor to die........... -
my 1st donate blood exp. is terrible. the medical attendant's handling is bad...aldy inform her i'm the 1st timer but still...1 big green black and the "roughness" treatment i hv encountered...sigh...
well, i din stop blood donating after that bad experience but with lesser expectation of the "careful" treatment.

I'm sure that medical attendant is not new comer...by looking her stern looks commanding ppl here n there.... keep chit chatting across with her colleagues while waiting for my blood fill up the bag.
Oops! I'm not discourage those 1st timer 2dontate blood...do have nice n caring medical attendant...but so far yet meet any1.
actually, i dun mind to donate n wanted to help. the very 1st time i want 2donate i was rejected coz i'm underweight by 1kg. after 1 yrs, just meet 48kg...n i went with full hearted and encounter such "mis-handling" that y i feel great disappointment. mayb at the 1st plc i shldn't expect too much from them to avoid such disappointment. -

I wanna go try donating blood
Went twice before....
first time was on my 18th birthday. Was underweight by three kgs. So kenna rejected and told to go home.
2nd time I forgot that I took panadol two days before due to a headache. I only remembered that when I filled up the form with 101 questions in there. Again, kenna rejected, they said must let my blood cleanse from medication first.
After that, never go liao.
How is it like? Will feel giddy after that or not???? -
though the current medical price is high, it will be higher if they need to pay for blood. wat's more the blood donated need to be tested and preserved. not a cheap proccess.
The stuffs at the blood donation center have been poking needles the whole day and their eyes will most likely be crossed halfwa thru. Guess we just have to be understanding to them on that.
