  It's all myth. If anyone can purify his or her sin by donating, than everyone will do so already. It doesn't make sense at all. Christianity is about good deeds, not $$$. but then if you do the good deeds, it depends on yourself whether you are really into it or you just want people to look at your as a good man. Of course when you donate lots of money to the poor, the poor will look at you and say that you're kind man, but whether you are really into it or you just wanted to be famous or to get political power control(like most of the politicians, they donate a lot of money just hoping people will look at time) only God knows.

  I was nearly misled by some people I met about a month ago, who told me that by donating to their church, my sins will be purified.
