Yesterday's Straits Times (6 Oct 2005) is a classic. Starting from the fantastic headlines, "Great Singapore Sale rings up record $5Billion in Takings".....wow $5B - Singaporeans and the tourists really can shop 'til drop- the good news in S'pore goes on non stop until the back page.
On the right side of the front page tenor Jose Carreras is in Singapore and all those Singapore women in expensive beautiful dresses surrounding him - life is good. Just below that report - COE has fallen to $11K and Singaporeans are all rushing to buy cars.
I found that awful stuff is happening everywhere else in the world except singapore - of course there is the Bali Bombing that covered several pages, one article "What if hurricane hits New York", "New Orleans to lay off half its workers", "British Minorities isolated"..etc...
I feel so fortunate to be in Singapore after reading all these articles. The news on dengue is shrinking that I could hardly find it. Structural unemployment? Disappeared. Poor homeless Singaporeans? Don't exist. Yes. we are so lucky to be Singaporeans.. -

That is what our newspapers want us to believe,"it is very fortunate to live in singapore",CRAPPPPPPP!!!!!Dont u know our newspaper works like a communist propaganda tools?They only report the positive side of our country n negative side of other countries,so as to make u feel singapore is a really good place to live in.But if u go to other countries before,u will know what is called "Heaven n Hell".And of coz,singapore(sorry,i dont even bother to type capital letter "s" as i dont like this place anymore) is hell.
I now act like foreign workers,once i earn enough money,i will leave this Fucking place for good. -

remove taxes... ??? That's never going to be possible. Once govt collect more and more $ from us through GST, ERP, COE and etc ... somehow... it all become twisted... more and more is taken from us through different means ...

Singapore will be a place in the future for the rich only. The poor can stay to serve the rich. n the rich will grow richer as they can stay mobile n move betw countries. The poor can only take what the government throws at them.

As again, sacarstic. To say frankly, when the news report that PM Lee expects a strong support, I feel like vomitting. Everything that should not be increasing increased - GST, hospital bills and all. Everything that should not be decreasing decreased - jobs, CPF and all. if i rich i sure move to other place rarher then here man. inflation rising, pay gatting less, using our tax money to build useless things like extra mrt and upgrading lah blah blah blh hiaz all old story man.... THE FACT is in a couple of years time we are going to be like another japan where everything is expensive and rich is getting richer and poor is getting poorer man...
in fact the gap here is now very huge earning 2500$ a month now is considered POOR get this dudes -
