Should I get more involved in politics????

I am a student now studying Secondary Two in a neighbourhood school. I am interested in history, politics and current affairs. Everytime go to school, I everytime talk on current affairs and politics to my classmates. Some are interested and some are not. I also tell this to my teacher. My teacher think that I am too dangerous and maybe caught by the police. So I tone down on it. Do you all think I should continue my interest on it or stop it completely????? Tell me your views on it

your teacher is not horrified that you are dangerous toking abt politics in school.
you teacher is more worried ISD may mistake him for encouraging such seditious things to his students which is not in the syllabus. Like during our early independance schools were hotbeds for easy recruits for the communists cadre and many teachers embraced cmmunism in those days . thats why your teacher worry mah .. and since teachers are garmen servants their iron rice bowl and huge huge bonuses are tied to their performance.
since you sec 2 ony you shud kuai kaui study and not mix ard with the rebels in sgforums.

good for you! i encourage your attitudes but i must warn you as well. Taking an interest in politics and becoming actively involved is another issue. Most people have an interest in politics but choose not to become involved. Some have more balls and decide to take up the challenge of politics. Since you are still at a young and tender age where your perceptions and views on issues are slowly being formed, I would advise you to take a more passive approach and take small steps at a time. Equip yourself with more knowledge and ALWAYS take a look at both sides of the argument. A lot of people think that being political is only about adopting one view, campaign it as THE only view and think they are being very smart. Your teacher seems to have some concern with your political views at the moment and I would think that maybe your views are too radical and not well formed. Take things slowly. Don't rush into it. If you really feel a need to get involved, take on political roles that are more within your grasp for example, student government in your school (no matter what they say about prefects of councillors, there's a lot to learn from it). Good luck with that! -

Oh I see. So I should listen both to the government and the opposition by going to their website, rallies, dialouge and so on. I should not keep on praising only one side. But try to balanced it??? Actually my language is no good. there is one thing you must know since now you mebbe one inch taller in all directions liao, is bery good you want to widen your horizon but at your age it is very easy to kanna smoke out or become overly passionate and emotional to join this or dat with fist thrusting into the sky or just because somebody say the system is wrong for whatever reasons.
but hor there is no certain or perfect situation one lah .. the strong will always take from weak in all societies and garmens.
look at communism when they started out they say "all share share" but in the end leh the big leader take all the most beautiful gers in the land sigh ....
but there is thing that is very certain no leader no matter how democratic will like his position to be undermined or jeapordised. He will always view all opposition as rebels to his rule just like darth vader and little luke skywalker.
ah boy ar ... you shud enjoy your youth lah .. I'm sure your school nearby got many pretty gers ah.. go make fren with them lah ... then
weekend go BBQ still can ahem .. "pa-pow" or you like politics so much then join your school debating team lah .. hey I heard hor .. many pretty gers in debating teams one leh .. faster faster -

if you think you are interested in this field of politics and think you can excel in it maybe you should try but if you're just like to talk about politics maybe you should migrate to american or try out the speaker's corner
