What more must we do in order to accomodate some people's wishes?

This is all bigotry. Calling dogs dirty is similar to racism. Dogs aren't dirty at all .

When i liken someone to a dog , i am not insulting him.
If a dog is a majestic animal , it would be a praise , and the person who perceives it will view it differently.

If a human can call a dog as "Man's best friend" and yet another human can also call them dirty animals , i think mankind has no hope at all.

We humans are the dirtiest , we have dirtied the whole world with pollution and some people still call dogs as dirty animals.
I think the racism against dogs should stop.

Im against anyone who call refers to dog as unclean.
Dogs are clean animals
They should be given a right to be whereever they are , If we can't give animals the same treatment , then it's sad.
Lets say that God created animals , even pigs and dogs are to be respected

Search and Rescue dogs are in SCDF to help Pakistan for the earthquake victims.
The perception of dogs has got to change especially in Singapore.
Dogs shouldn't be associated with uncleanliness and poor hygiene.
Dogs are even helping out for search and rescue victims in muslim countries like Pakistan.
People in general , should be more friendly towards dogs.They are Man's Best Friend after all

hey, i'm a muslim here. and this thing abt "uncleanliness" with dogs is already stated in our religion. we're bounded by it. we have to obey it. sure you can find security dogs being used in rich man's houses in the middle east, but they are not in close proximity even with the owner. why do muslims view dogs as "dirty"? it's the wagging tongue that is considered to be dirty. it's wet and picks up almost any particle in the air because it is always out of the mouth. abt the taxi thingy, the person just didnt want the dog's saliva to drip to the seats and next, a muslim unknowingly sits in the taxi and doesnt even know what he/she has sat on. this, already, is a form of a sinful act. yes, it's that strict.
so please understand... -
The hanging tongue is a natural thing, the dogs can't help it. Why should it be that God made dogs that way, and yet they are condemned by God's followers for something which is not their fault? Anyway, if it's the tongue that's the real problem, would wrapping it up in, say, a condom, or holding some receptacle under it to collect the saliva, solve the problem??

I don't think the wagging tongue is that dirty. You don't see dogs licking themselves all over to scrape off dirt then cough up a hairball later (cat). Neither do you see a dog wallowing in mud to cool off (hippo). I've got 3 dogs and they only have their tongues out when they have been exercised rigorously. Humans sweat when they are hot and I doubt the sweat's that clean either.
Human skin also contains natural moistness and is in constant contact with the air. I think we can safely presume that a dog running through 30 feet of a cave untouched by humans is much cleaner than a person walking through 30 feet of an underground enclosed carpark. Dogs are naturally clean animals that do not eliminate where they sleep. Since when have you found a dog in the wild that is sleeping in an area littered with its own faeces?
On the taxi issue, if the taxi is properly air conditioned and the dog did not exert a great amount of energy in order to get into it, I doubt the dog will pant so much in order to drip saliva onto the seat, unless the dog has not been properly socialized to different situations, in which panting can result from nervousness, similar to that of when humans can sweat when nervous. Besides, the next person can always just wipe it over with a tissue or something before sitting on it. Don't forget the person before you at the food court may have split something with pork on the seat. It may or may not be visible.
I'm not blaming you for what you've been bound though, I always make sure my dogs do not approach anyone with no willingness to be approached and they are well known in the neighborhood to the extent that my cocker spaniel has played ball fetching with Muslim kids before using leaves and plastic bags to touch and throw the ball instead. In fact I have an ex girlfriend who's Muslim and she has 2 dogs too. -

If a person does something unknowingly,he is considered as committed a sin in Islam's view?
Eg, i have heard that if muslim unknowingly ate pork (eg a vendor put out sign that it is halal when infact they do not follow proper procedure and result in pork being mixed into the dish),it is actually ok and not a sin cos the muslim did not set out to break the islamic law.
So can it be applied here?Keyword being unknowingly.
I know the same case applies to Christianity too.Eg christian should not eat food that is offered to other God but if they unknowingly ate such stuff,it is ok. -

Does it means that the solution is to ban pork altogether in singapore?
It is also a fact that dogs do not only salivate on Taxis.They does so everywhere.So if a muslim unknowingly walk about and steps on it.Also a sin?
I would find that funny then.Might as well get rid of all dogs from singapore. -

let me recount my teacher's experience. during his NS days, he was served sausage. word of mouth got around that the sausage was not Halal. now, he's developed a phobia towards sausages and has avoided them since. the phobia has been gg on for 30yrs.
my gf and i do find some dogs well-groomed. sometimes, we don't see them as dirty too. but as our religion has bounded us, we really can't do anything.. but just to appreciate the beautiful dog from a distance. -

a bit off-topic : when a dog's saliva comes into contact with a Muslim, he/she must cleanse him/herself with mud/clay for seven times, while reciting a few prayers. as such, prevention is the easiest way out for us. -
Hey that's cool of you to appreciate the dog from a distance, the worst reactions I've seen so far is from people who bolt the minute they see a dog, even when it's leashed and basically tethered to the handler. I think your teacher needs professional help if he has a true phobia of sausages. Does he really get agitated and experiences real and excessive fear or is it just something that makes him avoid it? Think you gotta tell him that word of mouth has also haunted my BMT company line, SOC grounds and field camp terrain. I've yet to see a woman wearing a red dress with long flowing hair waiting to suck my blood dry though.

Talk about dogs, I still miss my Pomerarian who have died of old age. She is a great companion to our family. When we are sad, dogs sense it and is kind to comfort us. When we are coming home, dogs intuition tells her to wait at the door. Dogs has their own personlity too. It is a very intelligent animal. Dogs can be toilet trained too. My mum's neighbour's cat poops and pee everywhere along the corridor. I saw cats clean themselves by licking all over themselves. I don't know what to say, but are cats cleaner than dogs? To me all animals are prescious and the same. Fish, snakes, dogs, cats, sharks, lions, hamsters all alike.

Such like christian should not eat food offered to other gods.So solution to it is to outlaw people from offering good to their gods so that christian have peace of mind knowing that they will not eat such stuff unknowingly.
I means it in a way that singapore is a multi culture society with so many religions,there is bound to be clashes here and there and best would be if there is give and take.
