  Well then it depends on how strong the buildings are. I watched the CNA documentary bout the tsunami generated by Krakatoa. The wave was apparently big enough to actually hurl a 10m big rock with corals on it onto a light-house. The light-house would have survived the wave bcos it had extremely thick walls, but the rock smashed it. Interestingly, the light-house man who decided to stay behind to warn the people survived, albeit with serious injuries.

  nbody will tell u that HDB can only withstand maxi 2-3 grade earthquake..
  
  i don't take the chance.. i plan to migrate out of singapore....before earthquake or tsunami hits singapore.

  sg island is well covered by java sumatra and peninsula malaysia. if waves of such a scale engulf us...a reasonable land area of our neighbouring countries would have been overrun ...i bet 80 percent of java and sumatra.....35 percent of malaysia (with johore under the sea and penang/KL not spared either)

  have you encountered earthquake before or not? you never go out of singapore...
  
  i spent most of my time in tokyo in the past few years... i encountered many earthquakes.. (recently, i just encoutered 7+ magnitude and stuck in Tokyo metro for good 7 hours)
  
  my foot.. magnitude 5. is too soft to be felt.. who the AssHole told u this? or you came out of imagination...
  
  when singaporean ran out of HDB during earthquake in indonesia.. this is called nothing.. not even 2-3 in magnitude. HDB is not designed to resist any big earthquake in nearby country....

  Yeah...tt time last yr Indon got Earthquake.I was studying late at night,and i thought i was dreaming,cuz too tired or wat.I was pretty sure why,it wasn't me dreaming,my contact lens holder is those clear cyclindrical type and the solution inside was sloshing around and i wasn't touching that bed-side table...my jeans hanging behind the door was swaying wildly,with my belt banging against the wall. And i stay pretty near Toa Payoh actually, and since my com was on,i asked frens online if they felt the earth shake.All asked me WTF happened,cuz they felt it too,Novena,Serangoon,Bishan. And I thought since i stay near PIE,mebbe some SAF armoured unit conducting some exercise was using the PIE to move to the location of deployment,but looking out of my window,no such thing,only cars. And u sae that in Singapore u can't feel it...boy must u have been a snoring pig man.it was damn violent...and lasted slightly over 10seconds.

  u r not wrong...sg has constantly felt aftershock and slight tremors from earthquakes in the rgion but we are blessed to be shielded. if a natural disaster of destructive scale hit sg...i bet our neighbouring countries will not be spared either.
