Vista Beta is not available for public download. Beta 2 will be available to public in due time. Its not advisable to download it as a replacement for XP, it is beta and there are many bugs and problems. Unless you have a spare PC, I will not recommend the download.

yupe, they are right beta OS will give you tons of trouble, unless you want to use it for some real business, using it would be asking for troubles.
try Linux, you will have different experiences

they said that their search functions will be comparable to Mac OSX Tiger's Spotlight. Theres supposed to be better security and betta user accounts control, and their description of accounts control sounds rather similar to what Mac OSX has a long time ago. Yr Windows Vista will not startup as the admin of the computer. Instead, it'll be somewhat like a secondary account to prevent viruses and hackers from accessing the system files.
Too early to say whether its better or worse than XP, but for me I'll definitely delay the upgrading to Vista as I wanna see whether its really worth the effort. I dun wanna waste time backing up my files and stuff by reformatting my com. Mac is so much betta. Upgrading won't delete yr files... -

Vista same as XP, use the same core, so got the same bug.
Other than few eye candy... maybe got some other changes but still based on XP. -

there is no way you can perfect system from day one, if Linux always changes its core every new version, i assure you it will be buggy.
furthermore, it is much more than just a few eye candies.
