tis part he say change ur work..must put reference one. If he didnt say it, he is crappy lecturer.Originally posted by Ayukat:I wonder if anybody thought of this? Its probably bullshit, but do take a moment to think about it.
Downloading games, mp3s, software and video files from the internet, is that truly an infringement of copyrighted material?
A lecturer once told my lecture class, you can copy work, as long as you change it a little, even just a little, its your work.
Whenever we download files from the internet, its always the case where the files are already modified.![]()
I never say artiste no need earn money mah, I only say what we are doing is not really intruding copyright, since the entire thing we are getting is of a different format from the original.Originally posted by DrTech:Err, artiste's no need earn money ar?
Piracy is not encouraging the industry to produce more stuffs. How would you feel when you don't get paid for your job?

The file extension may differ. but the contents DID NOT change, right?
So how can u claim that it is 'entirely different'?
I agree with you. That's why Digital Rights Management is a thorny issue. When we stretch the legal argument to the limit, the mere conversion of formats means some form of signal degradation. But copyright lawsuits often focus on the whole collection of bytes as a unique piece of work.Originally posted by Ayukat:I meant its not entirely the same...![]()
Isn't there a flaw in that sentence? "No part of this cd content may be copy or distributed without the owner's permission"Originally posted by ejb:Generally speaking, what your lect mention is true.
as long as you change something, it does not invade the copyright rule,
BUT, please take a look at the ORIGINAL cd that you brought, read it's fine-print.
"No part of this cd content may be copy or distributed without the owner's permission", (read the words, "No part")as such, by this line, it will binds the copyright rule together.
You do not need to copy the entire cd to be prosecuted, all you need to do is to just copy a song and you are against the copyright law.
btw, unless you are thinking about taking the song, recut your own album just YOUR singing...![]()
Nah, just want to get famous.Originally posted by alexkusu:ru looking for people's opnions or seeking justification?
Are you saying by quoting this post of yours, you can sue me for copyrighting?Originally posted by Lim Beh Ka Li Kong:It's the CONTENTS, and not the FORM, that matters lah...
If u were to copy a movie, then edit one line at the end of it, 99.999% of the 'edited/modified movie' still infringes the copyright, yah?
Nah... I'm no lawyer to answer that...Originally posted by Ayukat:Are you saying by quoting this post of yours, you can sue me for copyrighting?![]()
The cracking part already violated DMCA liao.Originally posted by Ayukat:Game/Software: These files usually come in the form of ISO or .EXE format. And usually the .EXE format files are being edited already, edited as in already cracked or hacked by some people. And ISO files are not the original format of these files. I mean Game/Software they usually comes in CD form and ISO files and CDs are different right? Its not like we copy an exact duplicated of the CD for others. The entire format is different, how is it being copyrigted?
