Why should i give my seat

To those people who write in to "The Sunday Times Forum"
"It was rather callous of the writer to suggest the pregeant woman to take a taxi if she wanted a confirmed seat, not all can afford a taxi"
If you cannot even afford a taxi, then how can you even be prepared to afford raising up a baby
so if the baby is going to come out soon, you take a bus and expect the driver to put on a siren and speed to the hospital for you?
Secondly, even if there are ADULTS seating amongst the youth in the crowd, adults that can range from 30-50 years old.How come when they do not give their seats, the youth always get bashed verbally first?There are definately adults sitting amongst the students, so what?Students have social obligations which adults receive immunity from? -

When my bike skidded off the track and i fell infront of a pub at east coast beach, no one helped me.Yet did i write a letter to the forum reprimanding those who did not helped at all.

hello people. i read the whole scenario of this article. frm last week till this week.
it's sad that when someone doesnt get a seat on the bus/train, all fingers point to.. students. Uni students are adults i should say. it's sad that most people quickly make a link that the unsymphatetic = students.
i dont see any reason why the mother couldnt have asked any one of the students kindly for a seat. i'm sure the person would give up their seat for her and the baby. if you want something, get it. now, the article has blown out of proportions. fingers are pointing at each other and all. my dad gave up his seat to a pregnant lady on the train the other day. he rarely takes the train anyway.
so to those who are pregnant and need a seat, if no one offers you any, just ask nicely for a person to give up his/her seat saying that you're tired or something. i'm sure he/she wouldnt mind. -

and since the tough old man likes to proclaim the toughness of the older generation.They can always stand so we can see how tough they are and we learnt from there, if they sit down.We wont get a chance to see their toughness and wont learn anything.

The TOUGHer older generation can always stand as they always proclaim their toughness in newspaper articles, you must let the weakling youngsters like us sit because the strong is supposed to help the weak and the stronger people in this case are the old people as they always like to brag about.

it's advisable to spend 63cents bus fare to get to your destination
instead of incurring medical fees or worse, miscarriage -
my stand is, for whatever action you decide to take, you must be able to bear the results. Yes, that also means you must be able to accept being praised for giving up your seat.
personally, i would definitely give up my seat, because i feel that there is someone who needs it more than me, and i dont really care about sitting because i'd prefer to stand anyway.
