In my younger days when i was in my teens and 20s. It was the period of the late '80s and '90s. I was a chao ah beng but good guy. My wife of now fell for me when i was in NTU in the early '90s. She told me long ago i was unique. Like u know early 90s gals are more are into the image of a guy than his wallet. And they were also more attractive than the gals currently. I am 34 now. Still bad boy but good guy.
Why arent the young peple having this street mindness now? Spoilt brats? good comfortable life? People still growing up in the previous decade. The good comfortable life had made them braindead IMO. FYI ask the baby boomers and the generation X (me)
They are resourceful and analytical. -

From my observation, the young people nowaday are a self centred crowd.
They cant hold a proper conversation. Always give replies like " ohh i see , I didnt know, i am not sure" -
The young gal now are worst than b4. Braindead. And blur.
My time gals can speak a variety of topics for their age. They quite mature. -
There was something called the Beng Lian culture in the 90s. There was also rock culture, soccer fever , games which made people come together for socialising. Not much internet. Free time was spent more often going to movies, engage in sports, picnics gatherings ect. People bring songbirds to chai at park and coffeeshops. People of all races mixed together It was through this social culture most people became streetsmart.

I agree on the awefully annoying replies from youngsters like "I don't know". "Why do you not like this meal?" "I don't know" "Why are you wearing a jacket when it's hot as hell?" "I don't know" "Why do you not like this singer?" "I don't know". Wtf... It is arguably true that youngsters may gotten less expressive. I have met intellectual youngsters too. But they are intellectual the elitist method which is not desirable. They tend to be immune to other's feelings, selfish and arrogant and no sense of contributing good to society. Another point which I have to agree. Young girls nowadays are pretty much naive, uninteresting, snobbish, blinded by materialism and all they know is to say stuffs like "eeeee... so Cheena" "eeeee.... so er xing" "eeeee.... I wHeRe gOt tYpE lIkE tHiS oNe WoRxZ" and when you asked them why they would say "I don't know". If u used my early 90s Bad boy- good guy attitude now, pretty sure wont work with the gals. Only money and asset talk. And Divorce will be widspread as couples look for the wrong things in a relationship.
