What I meant was how Westernization has corrupted the minds of the youngs, causing them to think that they are enclosed in a land of the conservatives. I totally agree with Phillia n Mr Soh's views in terms of westernisation and thier ideals n sense of direction is all just screwed. Truth is, Singapore dun hav a very long history and culture, hence, absorb other ppls culture to suit themselves. So u see ppl imitating westerners culture, idealogy......and society as a whole degenerates. So you like it when we Singaporeans (mainly Chinese) continue to worship the continuous invasion from Hollywood blockbusters and American fast-food while we as Asians fall into the vicious process of cultural dilution?
Its happened many times in the past, like the changing of dynasties...more recently the overthrowing of the Soviet Union. The collapse of the USSR was not juz the failure of the system, but also the US and West Europe culture and the sucess of their model that influenced its ppl to overthrow the USSR.
I dont study history, so i might be wrong..........

I'm born in the early 80s.. and really am shock at the amount of "changes" these kids have these days. I think the first sign of such "images" that appear are actually in the late 80s to the early 90s.. This is where many westernize influences come in..
Media plays an important part of "growing" in a teenagers life.. How many western shows are there back in the 70s and 80s compared to the present period?? What about the "open-mindedness" in people these days? Not pointing the blame at westerners, I feel that most asians in their teens follow blindly..
Like both of you.. I am disgusted at the fact that everything you ask them.. Their reply is I don't know leh.. etc.. I feel like asking.. "Than what you know?"
Many people will say time changes and such.. I truely agree with that.. But time changes does not mean that basic values as an asian.. Regardless of race or religion should change. Their own culture and values should maintain to bring down to future generations.

The last logical thinking people are in their 20s now. The teens at present *sigh* look stupid, dress stupid and they r not good looking when comparing to my time as teen in the 1990s. I was born in 1980
Cant imagine i will be picking my future soul mate from the teen group art present. The gals look and soud very dumb. Everyday i see them on the bus trains the way they speak on their handphone and to their friends around them. Utter stupidity and simply Bo chap.
I agree wit Mr Soh the grown gals in the 1990s were more chio. In Poly and Uni, i seen them look very fashionable -
And as a avid gamer, do u all notice games now are made more for the 20s-30s group people? because the current teen group cant even enjoy and understand console games.
