Do People Who Suicide Commit A Sin?

  I guess it comes down to this........
  
  If I know I will cause bad effects by doing something, and under normal circumstances I don't do it, but when Im under abnormal circumstances when I experience hurt/ grief/ etc, so much so that I am overcome, or overfilled, with these emotions which override my knowledge of the bad effects..........IS comitting this act a sin then?
  
  Coz suicide people should more or less fall into this description, right?
  
  Isn't it more like an ironic/ pitiful/ victim kinda thing instead? Why should they be described as comitting a sin? And why should they be punished?
  
  Despite the fact of the bad effects. Coz the emotions override their knowledge of bad effects, you see.
  
  And these emotions are not greed, or hatred, or lust, or any other 'evil' emotions befitting to be sin, but in fact quite the opposite 'pitiful' types like sadness, hurt, etc.
  
  In my mind, the overriding pitiful emotions should make them innocent.
  
  Not to say I agree with suicide lah.....just a discussion.....I believe it's not a sin.....

  I guess this is a difficult point for me to understand. Like, I can think that if you are a soldier and u kill an enemy in a battlefield, it's different if u kill ur neighbour coz u hate him. But on the other hand, it can be just as sinful. And so I also don't know/ don't understand whether you might be right or not.

  One is being forced to kill, one is kill by choice?
