Alright alright, so Jesus had a daughter. He had sons too! And grandmother, grandfather, then there were a few grandsons and grand daughters even!

The world surrounding us is a mystery. I actually like having these kinds of topic, as it shows you different opinions by other individualist. That's what a forums is for. To socialise, share opinons about certain topics etc etc. (im getting out of topic i know.)
Well, i might not be a Christian, but i somehow am fascinated by the book. -
I've always loved jesus as a historical figure than religious icon.
There is this new book by anne rice...called Christ the Lord:Out of Egypt, the book is about the life of a young christ, written in such a way as though recited by christ himself.... it's the similar written style of her vampire books... having the main character tell the story....
I've been anticipating this book for 1 yr already.... going to borders and get it right after my exams! -

The Knights Templar exist and they are rumored to be knights of King Arthur. Why is this so? It is easy to draw reference. During that time Rome is facing decline and their own country is at stake so if they are any treasures where to put for safety? Simple.. ship them to a foreign country and engage a group of knights to guard it so that if Rome should survive and flourish again the treasure are protected and can be shipped back again.
Now if King Arthur marry a women of Rome royal lineage won't he indirectly mean he has got hold of the treasures under his watchful eyes? Treasures are rumored to be a lot but somehow I read books talking about the chalice cup, the spear that speared Jesus, the crown of thorns, the shroud etc etc
Conclusion: Knights Templar are warring knights fully armed and loaded and definitely not your typical so meek and innocent priest in their robes. -

but the thing i like most about Dan Brown's book is, other facts come into place. about the measurement from your finger to your whatever body part is the same, something like that. some maths involved,(the first part of the book)
and in Angels and Demons, there's such a thing called Anti-matter, where they collide and there's a big explosion or some sort.(was that part true? i can't remember)
its just that the book broaden our minds and get us thinking, is all this real? i like those kinds of book. =D -

Note Rome did extend their empire all the way to Britain but did not stay long enuff to conquer it satisfactorily. Remember the Gladiator movie when Rome soldiers are in a winter land fighting battle with the painted tribal ppl they called the Picts. That is somewhere in Britain.

The origin of the knights is very clearly documented in history as protectors of certain types of monks, akin to Cistern tradition. Soon after, the founding members of the knights become involved before, during, and after the "Crusades," and took on many activities other than demanding that non-christians "convert or die". -

i dont think anyone should read da vinci code. its quite an excuse to escape the truth. it doesnt mean all you read is all there is.. i mean.. theres breaking the da vinci code after all right?
the bible has so much knowledge inside it links to today, and 2 thousand yrs ago. it tells u why the christians and muslims have conflicts, why the jews dont understand the christians and many other things... you just need to ask people who know thats all. its like.
its hurting to see pple making assumptions about Jesus being only human and all that.(he's not by the way).when u know Him, its different. even if u dont believe in Him or whatsoever, please dont throw bad remarks about him...? because when you've known him, you'll wish u hadnt said all those things.
when u see christians who dont act like christians, it doesnt mean all of us are like that. christianity is not religion. its relationship... depends how far u wanna go... dont let the stereotype of christians being just like the world rob u of your salvation. there are christians out there who fervently live for God. and is their life boring? no. it has never been better. its exciting. u may live happy.. but u'll never feel complete till you've met the maker.. =)
i wasnt christian my whole life. i was from the world of party and fun. do i prefer it? no way. i would never choose to go back after knowing who He is. he isnt just a boring ol god who watches over u and teaches u to do right things.. oh noo... its more than that. its deeper than that.. when u've accepted him, its not the end.. only the beginning of life's most beautiful journey.. =)

He clearly states it is a work of fiction. It is a novel. There are certain undisputable "facts" that he uses in the novel, and twists them around, becuase....it's a novel....There are zero "claims".....
He has talent, because it's best-selling. Not to mention he did much more research about the various topics than most people here will ever do...
In all his public appearances he states what I've said above. His comment about the "outcry" was that it hopefully pushed more people to embrace their faith by futher study.

If you read the "FACT" page, you will see it clearly states that the documents, rituals, organization, artwork, and architecture in the novel all exist. The "FACT" page makes no statement whatsoever about any of the ancient theories discussed by fictional characters. Interpreting those ideas is left to the reader. .... so which part of what had written is wrong.... also note that I've read all his books and enjoyed it for what it's worth.
I am not here to debate on whether Brown is a good writer or not.... granted DVC and probably A&D are pretty good. The other two books suck big time.
It also should be noted that he makes false allegations that are factually incorrect ie, the number of glass panes on The Louvre which he puts to 666, thus fanning a occultic implication. The number is incorrect. This, plus other spots that were factually incorrectly. -

And I agree that certain facts were incorrect, such as the number of windows. He ALSO states in his book that there may be mistakes in research and he aplogizes - He uses the standard phrasing ALL research-based novels use for this.
Two things about the windows bit....
Simply because there are inaccuracies in some minute details, that does not mean you can throw it all out...And second...I am pretty sure that he had intentionally used the number as it reinforced the theme of the work...The information about venus, occult, etc...as portrayed in the book, as well as the information about the "female" aspect was also correct.
This is just my guess, however once again - it is a good NOVEL with good research, albeit errors.
And let me ask you this....
What if he did not put in the "FACT" page, and what if he did not make any errors, and what if the storyline used the whole mary/grail thing as a "theory" someone had in the story, but the feeling was that the person with this theory was crazy and wrong....?
Do you think the book would have sold so well?

How many people in the world would have knowledge about general symbolism, and its use in spiritual paths, art, etc. without the dvc? Definitely not as much....So the guy did what he set out to do. And if he was as interested in all his FACTS being FACTS, I somehow think he'd have written "speculative fiction", "alternative history" or just plain "history". But he didn't. He wrote a novel, with nice gems inside for those who care enough to do their own research.......[/quote] -
