retrieval of data

My laptop's cooling fan was spoilt, so i sent it for repair... in the end, the person there say the motherboard also got problem, so cannot repair... so the problem now is is there anyway i can retrieve my data from my C drive?

take the hdd out, attach your notebook HDD as external HDD on another PC. And extract your data in the PC HDD.

laptop drives r smaller..not suitable for normal pc -

Yes any 2.5" casing is ok.
But please make sure that your HDD is still alive like what FI said.
You should be able to get the casing for less than 10 bucks.
All HDDs can use same method.

You can buy a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and then use it to connect your 2.5" HDD to your normal PC's IDE/ATA 3.5" connector/cable.
