An Ex-smoker's Journal: 2nd Day

Here's another crazy thing I judt did because of quitting smoking:
Walao I got a contract to built one small stage at home!!!
Put all my synthesizers, guitars, bass, speakers there.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....... hehehehee
It's a healthy distraction from smoking, and I further enhance my photography skills playing music - art, and arts, gets along.
One thing I noticed; I tended to drink a bit more.... must watch this one... -
My wife and in-laws are happy I quit, but they looking at me eyes big big - afraid I go crazy and try to squeez a grand paino into house...

I told them, dun worry, even if in the end I finally quit smoking and I don't use all these things anymore, can always sell off through eBay or someplace.
Lose some money is ok, dun lose years of my life is more important, and killing others with my second hand smoke... -

Actually, I dont recommend a sudden stop to smoking. Instead, you should cut down on the number day by day, till 1 day, you no longer need it.

great work ShuttleBug, it is good to hear pple quit smoking than pick up smoking...altho i'm a smoker myself, i dun excourage non-smoker to start smoking and if i heard abt my frenz quitting smking, i'll personnally encourage them by not smoking in front of them as a form of respect...

I've quit for almost a year now (3 more months to go), love the feeling. Don't worry about the short temper, we all get it (black face whole day, scold everyone wife, subordinates and even BOSS!) but it'll fade after awhile (about 1 1/2 weeks for me).
It's good that you took up a new hobby to keep your mind away from IT, I took up model kits making to keep myself occupied. -

Now, the morning urge to smoke is much lesser, but as someone said; would likely take 1.5 weeks for ill temperaments to fade away. Meantime, my employess, friends, and wife are mindful of this IRRITABILITY issue. hahaaa.. I lost my stylus yesterday - wanted to throw the damn PDA into the sea! That was my second stylus! Damn troublesome PDA phones! I should NEVER buy O2!
So my digital music production equipment just came last night and set up, now I have piles of Owner's Manual to get lost in. And nope, I don't fancy no church organ. Actually, this synth has everything inside - every known real and synthesized instruments are inside. Amazing technology! Just wonder why these ingenius people didn't dream up a remedy that can erase the Nicotine Urge with one tablet.
Just in case you guys are wonderin what it is I bought - it's the YAMAHA Motiff ES8 workstation. Very engaging - started playing it last night, and not only smoking was forgotten, I even forgot my wife....
Well, there;s more to come; my 6 string bass, a drummer's throne as a seat, knick knacks here and there... then some books on scales to practice - actually brush up as I'm not totally new to music....
I look forward to one full week without them friggin ciggies, and THANKS again you people. Tell your friends who are still smoking; things smells and taste different when you stop smoking, and after climbing up a flight of stairs, your heart doesn't sound like African drums. Stamina is a lot better, but I have to be wary of my impatience on the road while driving, and my temper - wait kenna wack by Ah Beng truck driver...
Oh one funny incident to share: drive to Funan in my Jag, parked it and went shopping around. Came back to carpark and went looking around for 30 minutes for a mini-van instead of my Jag. Haaaahahaha.. nearly called the Police, then realized the key I was holding has the Jag emblem.....walao damn embarrassing, lucky I was alone.... -

Basically if you've smoke for at least 5 years already done for it liao.
Ive read an american news article that probably your lungs already partially black , probably not charred.. -

What do you expect me to do after reading your little post about how "hopeless" it is to now stop smoking??
This is my 6th smoke-free day. And even if I'm down with some form of cancer, I'd still be here, encouraging others to STOP SMOKING!!!
Are you also aware that CANCER happens to people who don't smoke, or drink, stays away from places where people smoke, and exercises reqgularly?
Another cause of cancer is STRESS. The other cause of cancer is pure Ass-luck! -
