sinn...sounds familiarOriginally posted by one-niner:since your going for utility watches, why not go for this german brand Sinn ? they have a whole range of tool watches that speak volumes of the technology behind the watch, not to mention the quality and standard of a made in germany time piece.
Their timepieces can be viewed at the HourGlass in singapore. Their prices are also in the same range as the Tag Heuer and Ball watches your enquiring about.
However if the funds allow it, go for a Omega SpeedMaster.
well i own 2 of their watches..pretty amazing quality and heritage that Sinn has got. However there are also others who also chipped in ...Gedenkan is also pretty knowledgable on watchesOriginally posted by alexkusu:sinn...sounds familiar
i think u posted b4 on it..am i rite?

My personal take on watches is to go for one u like and you yourself will like it. No point asking for people's opinon as end of the day, the watch is being worn on your wrist and not others.
Do take some time to read up on various brands, gather more information, then build the interest so that you can make a more informed choice.Go on to
www.timezone.com
www.watchuseek.com
this 2 portals provides a huge resource and forums for Swiss and german made watches. From Pateks to Seikos, there is always a watch for everyone !
However ...feel free to PM if u got any other enquires pertaining to prices, after market service etc. ..which can be rather not nice to discuss in the open forums

Nope i don't own a Ball thoughOriginally posted by irage:Hi,
The Omega Speed Master is not an automatic watch...right?
I am more interested in automatic chronograph movement.
Do you know any sales staff from hourglass / Cortina who can offer me a good price? please PM me the name and number....

You meant both not nice....Originally posted by dragg:not very nice leh.

Humm....Originally posted by HENG@:Tag Heuer, any day.
yes. their watches are nicer too.Originally posted by irage:Humm....You are fan of Tag Heuer?
Humm... That is not a kind comment on Breitling.Originally posted by HENG@:yes. their watches are nicer too.
i like simple functionality. overly flash watches like Bretling... lets just say, they look better on pimps really.
The famous Winged B ( a moniker accorded to the Brietling brand in the heydays) was the watch chosen by pilots for its unqiue watches and robust nature of the watches. The current reinsurgence of Brietling does not is just living off its old heritage and releasing huge watches. If u do a google on "Navitimer" you will be suprised how many fansites are devoted to its practicality and the number of military airforces using the watch.Originally posted by HENG@:yes. their watches are nicer too.

Originally posted by irage:to be frank with u .. i don't know when Ball was launched as a watch brand in Swiss despite its marketing campaign. My current understanding is that its trying to infuse technology into its watches, which can be interesting, but the designs leave much to be designed.

Strange... No one vote for BALL...
