Which Anti-Virus software should I buy? Norton or McAfee?

Norton, no use.. let in a virus that crippled my PC..
AVG is FREE and probably the best around... -

You delete Norton's registry in the computer can use again. But I read that XP encryption prevents you from doing that. dun waste money.
anti-virus softwares are kinda costly.
go malaysia to buy the pirated copy and install the one year/three month trial.
re-install when expired -
wont they be able to detect that you are using a pirated software when you goes to norton website and download updates??

actually no need to buy de... can download from Edonkey or Emule.. free of charge... but i highly recommend norton la... it is more user friendly and have a nicer display than Mcafee.. the down side of mcafee is tat unless u install all the whole family of Mcafee products, every time u boot up or click on the Mcafee control panel, it will notify u tat u haven install other products like spamkiller, etc... it is like a eyesore.. u get it? in terms of detection and cleaning rate, both are roughly the same, but since I am a loyal norton user, I recommend norton instead...
I dont recommend Avast and AVG unless u are really desperate or on budget.. y? coz in terms of cleaning of viruses, it is not so effective as compared to norton and Mcafee.. Dont believe? try it... -

Computer Associates antivirus is good, got automatic updates. Trend Micro, Panda and Kaspersky are also good. -

I have used Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro, ZoneAlarm and AVG. Currently using only AVG. All the 3 computers in my home have it with auto updating and all.
From all the ones I used, I would say AVG is the best. It really does work perfectly. It has been almost 2 years since my laptop got affected by any spyware, malware, adware, trojan, virus or worms. I am being honest and not exaggerating here. AVG seriously does the job man.. Kudos to the company for making the home edition free.
I totally detest N*rton and McAf*e. They are like Micro*oft while AVG is like Linux. They just look cool and mainly screw up ur computer instead of getting the job done. They seriously lag up the computer and make heavy use of memory. AVG on the other hand makes clever use of memory and even its background scanning is superb! If you use the likes of background scanning in N*rton or McAf*e you really can't use the computer as everything slows down to a crawl.
So dl and use AVG today without any regrets! It just outshines the rest. -
Mcafee seems better than Norton as it intercepted 2 Sasser worms when i surf the web from my school's pc
