where to get pc recovery / reformat disk...the disk that comes with my com gone haywired already..any suggestion?

sad thing is i reformat my com with a friend's disk liao..and now i dl thing from microsoft all cannot dl...cos its not a real os..

i called up the technical support last time..they told me to insert the disk and follow the instruction to reformat..they nv say anything about the F10
my is a acer 5 year com...is it different on diff manufacturer -

i dont need any recovery cds.
just f10 and do it for me.

when i reformat rite...all the deleting and stuff went well but when it come to installing.. a few files are missing and i cannot continue

I suggest you call Acer helpdesk and get the updated stuff. -

Sim Lim only sells authorised OS pack. -
You guys; just go buy an OEM Windows XP CD original single license (app. $150) and you can re-install WIndows.
Forget those copy versions of Windows XP, they don't work anymore because of Microsoft's website update Validation policy.
Acer's, DELL's and whatever's, recovery CD doesn't allow you to set partitions or choose hard disk formats (NTFS / FAT32).
Get REAL.... -

Branded PCs, doesn't allow partitions or choose NTFS/Fat32. But it does solve the basic problem.
I'm using original XP sp1 and didn't update to sp2 cos it took up too much HDD space.
So each user's preference lor.
