two desktops and one laptop....never switch off for few yrs. Only reboot and off monitor. all still kicking... electricity bill so-so as long as you remember to off your monitor when ur not using it.
yeh for servers using server motherboard...i tell u 247 365 no reboot! only switch to alternate servers in the event of hardware down for periodic servicing or maintenancce. when u say reboot that is where the prob is with non server based hardware. a right configuration should stay online for at least months without rebooting or any shutdown
