  From 7 Dec 2005, the RM1 coin would be worthless.
  Withdrawn.
  No longer legal tender.

  It's the opposite of singapore, which had withdrawn officially, the $1 notes.
  Bird series was the last $1 notes.
  
  Malaysia is doing the opposite, withdrawing the coins.

  That was around since 3 months ago, the news I meant... no one wanted to be paid with the RM 1 coins, then some idiots went and make fake coins of them and tried to exchange with Bank Negara and got busted...

  hahaha... they may be idiots, but not retarded... they got a machine that produces such fake coins and then mix with the genuine one to reduce the suspicious level, but as it is, the staffs in the bank are well trained... so it's hard to fool them...

  Go to any local hypermarts and use it, they accept RM 1 coins until 6th Dec. The vending machine already stop receiving RM 1 coins since the beginning of Dec to facilitate easier collection and trade...
