knn, i live alone in a 3 room flat.
utility nowadays average $55 per month.
so expensive!!! -
then u shd assess why it is this amount....
are there some things u shd take note of to save electricity and water? -
mainly electricity.

my wife and i live in a 5 room flat, utilities bill is ard 80-90...

use less aircon

no air con = big savings

Yeah.... it's just 2 of us but our bill is huge
We can't sleep without the air-con.
It is really the killer. -

if die die cannot sleep wthout non-portable aircon, i think increasing the temp even by 1 deg C will make a difference in power consumption. -
electricity tariffs keep going up. why didnt they reduce it when oil prices go down?

i use only one aircon unit daily from 10pm - 7am. most of the time i switch it off when the room is cool enough.

Portable air-con sucks. Frankly I find that useless because it hardly cools down anything at all.

if need to cool down room fast add electric fan or switch on early
say one hour before sleep. set auto timer to switch off around 5 am,
just nice to wake up also during that time, outside temp also drop already
without air con also can sleep more another 1 - 2 hours -

recently i hv asked frez n relatives around...their average Utitily bill"
3 rooms - 1 pax $35+ (no air-cond)
4 rooms - 2 pax $60 (seldom air-cond - seldom at home)
5 rooms - 2 pax $80 (seldom air-cond & always at home)
of coz there are are high usage ones....
5 rooms - 2 pax $160 (air-cond every nights & seldom @home) -
