  Only download mp3s that cannot be found in CD shops. How do you expect to find albums selling doraemon and powerpuff girls soundtrack?
  
  And its very hard if not impossible to track ppl sending mp3s through MSN, unless Microsoft partners with RIAS. This is because all data will be encrypted before sending to your friend

  Drop MSN and use a client that allows you to encrypt your data before sending through the Messenger server.
  
  Take up IP courses if you want to be safe.And secure your network too.

  download via bittorrent. it's very safe. all my 5000+ songs in my iTunes are downloaded via bittorrent. p2p networks like kazza and limewire suck cos you can only download one song at a time. with bittorrent networks, you can download an entire album as a folder at once or even an entire collection of 10 albums as a zipped file..

  Yes until theres no more space. Theres no use really trying to sneak around and stuffs, because every byte of your connection first goes through your ISP's proxy server. I'm sure they are logging your activities.
  
  Its the RIAS, I think, which you have to avoid encountering on the net.
