I just came back from a ride with my local neighbourhood bikers. all ride few thousands bucks roadbikes, got 2-3 age 50+ uncles and the rest 30+ guys.. im riding a mtb.. i pedal like fark with all my strength and i mean all.. i couldnt catch up at all lol. now my thighs are tight and i got a hurting butt

Anyone who can keep up with the 1st Peleton (which consists of National riders, SEA Games cycling champs, Veterans and hardcore roadies ) must posess a very HIGH level of cycling fitness! Yup i also do not bother to wear any cycling gear, just t shirt, bermudas & sandals or track shoes. Anyway, mine's not high end bike with clipless pedals.
Wanted to buy a high end hardtail bike but, man i worked the sums out, gonna cost me somthing like $5000.

today i cycled again, bad choice. went home in the rain!
everytime along ECP ah, when i cycle fast, surely got some ppl wanna race with me one. just because i dun wear suit + helmet, they think i am just a normal cyclist. den they overtake me, i overtake them and chiong till i disappear frm their sight. another one bites the dust!

1) Its not called bike suit.. its Jersey and shorts! Hmmm..cheap 1 cost $115... but if u wallet itchy wanna buy Lance Armstrong's Jersey+shorts, u can purchase them at Treknology bike shop at Tanglin. Price? A whooping

2)Cycling Shoes (SPD types ) got 2 categories- Mountain and Road.
Road Shoes - Meant for road bike Clipless Pedals (can clip in from only 1 side ) , not meant for walking as the soles and cleats wear out damn fast. Slippery to walk on if ur soles are made of Carbon Fibre. Cheapest is $80 (Gee Hin Chan bike shop ) . Most ex 1 I saw was $400 at Treknology.
Mountain bike shoes - Meant for MTB Clipless pedals (can Clip in from both side of the pedals but Crank Bros Eggbeaters have 4 way entry ). MTB shoes have tough Steel cleats and their soles have tracks (like hiking boots ) to allow u to walk easily when wearing them. Can be worn regularly even when not cycling. I'm not sure about their prices though.. sorry...
As for me, I wear my Converse High Cut Shoes when cycling. I dun use SPDs as I fear that I wun be able to bail out on time during an emergency. Besides, I also dun take part in bike races

Dunno if its good, but honestly I like KLEIN but not the attitude series but the old ones, but no disc brake brackets
i'm also thinking of buying the xtc team but guys the santa cruz chameleon is cool too.
Btw sinicker, there's a GIANT authorised bike shop in tampines rite called TAYCYCLE, isn't it. Thought of gg there but afraid get lost in the estate. -

Rock Shok? hmmm.. not too sure sia.. I'm still using a stock suspension fork ( ulu ulu brand ) so I can't comment on higher end forks. My group (I'm just a member ar..not the leader ) is located in the Central - Eastern side of S'pore. But we are very inactive due to individual commitments. hmm.. my Voodoo Setup ar? Just gone shimano website, yup me gonna get the full LX M580 hollowtech II set with discs now, change to rapid fire shifters. Nice groupset more cuts to the crankset now.
TEF recommends that i keep my frame if its ok, still better than the xtc team. Hopefully upgrades gonna cost me below 2K.
I'll stick to the Rock Shox Reba race, best buy with motion control & lockout, dual air u-turn, 80, 100 & 115mm.
