Nah i'm XC most of the time, no offroad or stunt biking, urban & road riding is my forte.
If ur afraid of using SPD, use the M540, allows u to adjust the tightness of the cleats so won't be stuck & fall. I'm using the 540 but have yet to get the shoe

BTW, u guys go take a look at Seng Chu Hin's shop at tampines, nice stockup plus a fantastic SCOTT SCALE LIMITED full carbon frame in there, he told me frame alone $3050. Ooohlala.........

For 600 bucks, can get a few that are quite good, but definitely not light.
Those so called "light" bikes start at at least 1k as a sort of "benchmark" unless you wanna buy second hand.
GT, giant, wheeler, these are the few brands that are better value for $, trek is overpriced.

Remember, better to pay 30-40 dollars more than pay 30-40 dollars less and have some bo chap dude who won't bother to fix stuff when required after you buy from him. -
