Living the Gospel is a great way of evangelising. Our friends would be the first to notice it.Originally posted by huaqing:Giving out brochures at bus stops is just a way to evangelize. Of course it will be easier to ask our friends to convert.
What u have said shown that u do not understand the Bible, God'w words. Why not u get a Bible and start reading it, and go to a church, and really understand what it says? because what u are saying seems very funny to me...

The whole difference between Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism came about during the compilation of Buddhist writitngs at councils...
Seriously, one of the few prominent Christians that deserve much respect is Mother Theresa, sadly, who is ostracised by the Protestant community. I prefer her brand of faith and works, than self righteous evangelising fundamentalists who demonstrates more bull talk than actions or sincerity. On top of that, they dont think they are wrong at all. How pretentious or foolish they have become.Originally posted by SilverPal:If you don't care, it would suffice to "inform" others of God's love, there is no need to take on "foot-in-door" hard sell tactics.
Another concept that we can study is, why not just demonstrate God's love in our daily dealings, our words and actions? This is a soft sell strategy and deemed more acceptable to those subjected to it.
Mother Teresa didn't go to India to convert Hindus to Catholics. She went to care for the "poorest of the poor". To use the influence, connections and money of the Catholic church to provide soft beds, clean sheets and medical care to those too poor to afford. If a hindu patient dies in her "hospital", she would get her staff to bring the body to a Hindu temple for their religious authority to perform the final rites for the deceased.
Mother Teresa inspired many Catholics and non-christians around the world with her respect for other religions (namely Hinduism) and her willingness to help non Catholics with no ulterior motive of converting them.
There are more examples of religious people who believe in Buddism, Taoism and Islam who also show such love and selflessness too.
Why is it necessary for Christians from certain denomination to hang out at bus stops and MRT station and harass passer-bys with their hard sell tactics? How effective is it? How is the ROI?
Do you think a famous singer can be more successful at converting others if she sang christian songs like Hillsongs and Hosanna Music Ministry? Is there such a character in the christian community? If there is, is he/she doing it?

YOu people love to twist your words.

Some monks died without any relics left behind because they studied the fake sutras and the fake teachings of buddha...what a waste of time....
It is you who do not understand the bible. What he says make perfect sense. Its christian like you who do good because you seek to convert. This is akin to breaking a couple who are already in a relationship by introducing a 3rd party.Originally posted by huaqing:Giving out brochures at bus stops is just a way to evangelize. And the idea of "relics" being left behind being a status symbol is not of original buddhist teaching. Did Jesus leave relics? Did Mohammed? No. What is the point about bringing this up??
Your above statement is true, however your previous statement does not reflect that. There are people teaching all kinds of things throughout the world, some creating wacky UFO cults in my home country, and yet they still are able to get people to follow.Originally posted by maggot:There are people promoting fake buddhism teaching![]()
