HOW about other taxi drivers ? If these guys are co-operative they could have come together and threaten that s.o.b. Or are they keeping a distance praying the victim taxi man dont approach them. In HK or Taiwan, that s.o.b. could have had got another free ride - to hell.

If people are poor, they should get financial help before boarding a taxi. No money, no taxi ride.

charging him will lead to a waste of taxpayers' money. he wont have money to pay the fine, hence jail time. jail time will cost the govt more money.
the taxi driver will lose more money going through the procedure.
everybody loses.
that man obviously knows nobody has anything to gain from it.

Well, why is it nobody complains when taxi drivers deliberately cheat customers' money? Got quite a few occurance where by the taxi driver drove me home by the longer way, and being pissed off, cuz i told him the exact route, i just threw him the estimated amount if he had taken my route and left before he could say a thing.

Keep IC is illegal. Anyway about the overcharge thingy, nowadays you can complain for a full refund.
