what audio system i should buy?

I want to buy an audio system (hi-fi) for my reading room.
Budget (not more than 3K).

i went to harvey norman. Wah.. so many brands..
until i gong gong liao..

so, would like to ask for your advice on what is good in current market.

You can get better much quality systems for the same price.

i like to hear singers like Enya, Kanon (japaense), Jacky Cheung...

is 2K not enough? (note: i only need it for my reading room, i think 2 speakers are enough).

BTW, thanx for the opinions. Where can i get all these brands?

If u want good sound/music, i suggest u get " pre-power" amps.Brands like Krell, Exposure, Mark Levinson, Macintosh etc...Can get at Adelphi...

B & W brand of speakers suggested at above post is good.. but be prepared to spend more..if can get their Nautalis 8..(sweet sound)

But if for 3k, mayb get

Get Marantz, Parasound, Niam audio, for cd player.. they hv mono analog...not digital 24bit analog...

Speakers get Mondunt-Short, or get JBL's studio's speaker.Cheap & good.

If for normal amp, get intergrated amp.Nad's brand not bad.

if wan bao-ka-liao amp is look for AV-amp.get at least 150RMS(must note is not watt or p.m.p.o) so if in time to come, u wan to make home-theater also easier.

Or get those $399 normal sat/woofer system u see at courts...BTW, those cannot ask good or not, is can listen or not..or will the woofers voice-cone of the woofer up-lorry if u blast music too loud.

Or i sell u mine? is pre & power amp.Woofer & speakers i also hv. sell u cheap cheap.

As there are so many recommendation, how do i know which one is good?
how to know a speaker good or not? i like to hear Jacky Cheung singing... his voice can touch my heard....

my budget is not more than 3K. so, have to check it carefully.

Bose ( one said Bose not good)
Sony mezzo (by Fireice, don't know whether have to believe her/him or not as he/she spend most of the time jaga forum in front of computer)

This is what I use at home. It is shielded. You can place it right next to your computer monitor and it will not distort its signal. It comes with built in power amplifier.

Get a cheap $200 CD player and another $200 tuner. You should have a good system for less than $1500.

WEGAs are their TV models but they do have 2 full entertainment sets also by the same name. Cool
