  try this method... see if it helps..
  
  1. to disable it, go to start, run, type: msconfig
  
  2. at the top under Services, look for the word messenger and untick the box beside it..
  
  3. den click apply and ok..

  open windows messenger, go to options, 'general', and uncheck open windows messenger when windows start
