I am thinking of running for students' council. Tips?

Heehee... wow students' council... Humm I guess during my time and during your time is different liao ba. More than a decade since I ran for council.
Keep your speech short and sweet, and like they say, be sincere ba. Being humourous helps but don't be a clown unless you can carry off that AND be sincere at the same time.
Have good friends.
And err my campaign speech was about how I propose for us to install those giant toilet paper holders in all toilets. cos at that time, our toilets are ALWAYS running out of paper and no one refills it. It is very sian to go toilet, bangsai and realise no toilet paper lah.And heheh predictably I got lambasted critically for talking about stupid topic. Unpredictably however, my friends stood up for me in the hall and defended me. I was really really touched, and amazingly I was voted in - one reason being - I had friends who will stand by me and there must be a reason for that.
Did I enjoy myself in council? Looking back, sometimes I wished I had joined ODAC. I felt I discovered the outdoors too late. However, council taught me a lot about human nature, both about my own nature and others. If anything, I look back and am reminded of my own flaws and mistakes more than anything, and am glad that I had the experience so I could learn from them.
