Rock itself is general. in my teen years i will quote a list of bands i like but now no i will go for specific tracks. its not like one band always produce songs that are music to the ears but in any one album only one of two tracks are played to sell and top charts.
i find that the chinese rock and roll bands are still way of the mark. i have nothing against mayday, wu bai, shin, FIR etc but i feel that besides the powerful vocals, there is a lot to improve on the music sheets. esp guitar, rythm and drum beat riffs. the chinese music industry stressed too much on lyrical substance and unlike the westerners who have gone too far out to explore the muscial note that most of their rythms have gone commercial and sortta stereotyped. if it wasn't for the alternative, punk, Nu etc that added some taste and spice to Metal.... i wouldn't bet on the likes of older Metal bands that all went softer and slower in their music to hit the mark.
anyway no matter if its chinese, korea, japan or the westerners....rock and roll is definitely my cup of tea instead of watching some MTV with a couple of black dogs dancing going around the coconut tree -

Chtonic is a taiwanese band? Not bad for an asian band that dabble in goth metal. I never listen to them before but seeing the website I think they can give those europe and us goth metal bands a run of their money
I think their album songs which form together to relate a story is like those King Diamond albums with a story. Abigail being one of his notable albums. -
