U referring to Eurodance? The likes like Real Mccoy, e Type, Corona...etc?
Techno hardly has vocals in it and features mostly percussive, synthetic sounds, studio effects and of cos a usually fast drum tempo. Techno sub cat are the Detroit Techno, Tech House, Trance and a string of others.
I do not think anyone is too cool for any form of music. U like it, go enjoy it. -

Actually, the Techno community is small and often misinterpreted with Eurodance.
Depends on wat kinda sub cat of Techno.. a person who likes Eurodance will probably hate a Techno set cos it's usually beeps and beats n hardly any vocals.. and tracks are quite monotonous with few melodic elements in it. -

FF dun produce tracks that is of any resemblence to Detroit Techno, Tech Hse and other sub genre of Techno. -

It has been some time since those companies coined the term Techno instead of Eurodance which, in fact has been misinterpreted. U go UK or US and tell ppl the so called Techno here is SG is Techno, expected the "huh" look.
I figured the companies prefer to coin Techno cos it sounds more fierce/happening, something that will help them to market the albums better to the young masses here. -
people who listen to techno also listen to other kinds of music u know. I'm at music underground almost every weekend, but i also enjoy listening to bossa nova, swing, big band, jazz, black metal, to name a few.
FadeToBlack seems to be a huge metal fan eh! Go download Lustmord and Wargasm II by Cradle of Filth...whenever im stressed i just blast that song at high volume. Dusk and Her Embrace is killer too!
btw u have any idea if Mayhem is still coming to singapore? -
agreed, the 'techno' that local radio stations play are actually eurodance (some call it euro CHEESE) and not the real techno, which to me is quite hard to absorb...i prefer trance more, bring on uplifting trance anytime man!

I love trance but I also like bossa nova, jazz, classical, instrumental among many others...

Actually, come to think of it. I don't really hate techno. Cause theres tech-trance which is harder but I like it.
One of the techno songs I like is Orbital - Belfast, which was remixed into a trance song. Both the original and remix are nice. -
