Care to share share some experience regarding the diploma u r holding on to..?
Is it useful to you..? did you get a job that you all along wanted? or did u ended up jobless still?
Is it true that not all diplomas are useful? Almost all the schools claimed that their diplomas are of high demand.. true..?
im having hard time confirming the course that im going to choose for the JAE thingy.. have to get ready real soon. JAE is approaching. I dun wanna end up regretting for choosing the wrong course and worse still, ended up getting a useless diploma. I hope i can get into a course that i can have passion for..

I did manufacturing engineering at SP ... and ended up studying computer science and economics at the uni ... a wasted detour ... so don't just close your eyes and tikam ... -

Coz diploma's now can be as good as degree holders. In terms of practical.

To be truthful, unless you are into R&D or teaching, basically theory are not so much needed. Cuz you learnt to function it rather than create it IMO. Tat is why some private companies prefer engage Poly than Uni graduates due to the nature of the job scope. They feel poly can do more whereas Uni graduates tok more than they use their hands
Btw I am a use hands Uni gradudate. I dun like toking but no use hands do ppl -

engineering grad working in finance sector is pretty common too cos if you read books abt financial analysis on the stock market, you will find that they are using engineering techniques to analyze them since the flow of stock market can be represented as a "signal" in engineering term. -
I have a dip in IT but did not went into IT straight after I ORDed.
Went back to the IT line almost 3 yrs later (+2.5 yr NS = 5.5yr out of IT!!)
Here I am now doing a job i have passion in.
As someone else mentioned, get a course you like instead of one that is in market demand...cuz you never know what the job market is like few years down the road. -

studyed Communication Design. quite a lot of jobs but you must have a great portfolio~ now working as in house graphic / product designer lo but I also dun like la, quite a boring job. hope can study mass communication at SIM next year~

Business then is see how you use your mouth earn money for company lor. If mouth good enuff can get a lot of sales. If mouth no good then no sales then company sack you lor simple? -

A diploma by itself is practically useless now a days... go for a degree next bah...

stupid singapore education system... what a waste of our time...
