plus automatics supposedly take more training to be proficient with.Originally posted by pie:Revolvers also supposedly less prone to jamming
Pistols can carry more ammunition, smaller calibre (biggest being .50AE) but revolvers have a larger chamber (support got higher calibre = higher power) but smaller amount of ammo.Originally posted by dragg:i have the impression pistols are more powerful.
So it boils down to rate of fire or better calibre..Originally posted by SpecOps87:Revolvers are less jam prone as if the ammunition in that particular chamber won't fire, pull the trigger again and the next round in the chamber is ready for use.
But an automatic, if jammed, you have to pull the slide to eject the round and then you can carry on firing.
The report in today's chinese papers:Originally posted by HENG@:I don't think its the 4506. Its supposedly an obselete model and im also assuming that the robber had it since the 70s when he was convicted for firearm offences.
anyone can post the actual pic that appeared in the newspapers of the actual gun? thanx

That one round which he fired is going to cost him his life.Originally posted by Simon Dean:New update:
The pistol which he used to rob Singapore Pools contained 9 other live rounds
imagine if he shot all of them at innocent people, he only shot one(i still dont know why?)
Yup. As long as the prosecution can prove beyond doubt that he had discharged the firearm, he'll face the mandatory death penalty. No need to prove anything else.Originally posted by dragg:if convicted he will get death sentence right?
Well I wouldn't be surprised.. it's not difficult at all to smuggle stuff in to Singapore, especially something as small as a handgun. Thus the need to have stiff punishment (mandatory life imprisonment) on illegal firearms possession.Originally posted by Simon Dean:I am goddanm sure at least more than 5 peoplein singapore have some sort of pistol or revolver at least by illegal means.
wah, hollowpoint...out to kill siah...Originally posted by HENG@:revolvers allow u to hold more powerful bullets in general.
since the bullets aren't held in the handgrip, u can chamber a revolver for bullets with longer casings. compare pics of a 9mm parabellum to a .357 magnum bullet.
9mm and .357 (inch) denotes the diameter of the bullet head when viewed along its axis
9mm Parabellum:
.357 magnum:
the old SW revolver sometime will fire but the hammer never hit the bullet's primer or the force not enough to fire it one...meaning u pull the trigger, the drum rotates, the hammer hit but no sound nothing flies out no smoke no nothing....haha...Originally posted by DrTech:I think due to the little mechanical parts in the revolver... there is very little or even no chance of weapon jams.
so u play counter or terror?Originally posted by tomsss:call in those CounterStrike experts lah... they know best![]()
