i believe some people got encounter this situationOriginally posted by babymac13:Hey playboy,
U just feel uncomfortable attracting attention from the public or afraid the person wont accept the seat you offer, i suppose. Don't worry, I believe some of us initially are like that. Just step out from your fear inside, offer your seat for the first time to the one who need the seat more than; subsequently, you wont have any problem for second or third .... etc

Same. But then... there was this once, I wanted to let up my seat for a middle-aged woman hor... Then kinda awkward. What if she takes offence? One of my teachers tried to let his seat or a pregnant woman. When he did though, the woman stared at him and shouted at him. Turns out the woman wasn't really pregnant, just that she had a big belly....Originally posted by playboy_1985:in public transport?

i experience all these scenarios before. kudos for coming up with themOriginally posted by sinicker:i havent had the opportunity to give up my seat to the elderly, the pregnant or the mother with children. i don't encounter them in my MRT rides leh. i want to ask you guys what you would do in these scenarios.
1. u see someone who needs the seat more than you do. you stand up and call the person to have ur seat. but the person says he/she is alighting at the next stop. you're now standing up. others are staring at you. what do you do?
2. your grp of friends and yourself(say 5 ppl) boarded the train at one of the terminating stops(so all of you are seated). towards town, someone who needs it more than you do boards the train. you are seated in the middle of ur grp of friends. do you give up your seat?
3. the train pulls into the station. train doors open and you see inconsiderate, kiasu, desperate old folks who obviously did not allow alighting passengers to alight first rush into the train to find seats. do you give up your seat to them?
drop a $10 note on the floor. should settle the problem..Originally posted by boy in blues:now let's take it a step further.
let's say you're standing on a crowded bus and this old lady boards and stands next to a mamak foreign labor who's seated and aware of her but refuse to lift his asshole from seat.
will you make him give up seat?![]()

1. Sit down lor, if others have not chope the seat already (maybe coz I'm female, so can be thick-skin and sit back down)Originally posted by sinicker:i havent had the opportunity to give up my seat to the elderly, the pregnant or the mother with children. i don't encounter them in my MRT rides leh. i want to ask you guys what you would do in these scenarios.
+1 for you.Originally posted by babymac13:Well, in my perception, we should not only give up seats to elderly, pregnent women, small kids or parents carrying a toddler in their arms, but also to conventient of people who need that seat more than us especially at the front seats.
For example, a middle aged woman may carrying bags of groceries from the market, we should also be considerate to give up the seat for her, instead of her moving all the way back for a free seat.
Hmm, in my teacher's case, the woman went another carraige and he went another carraige... Too bad for my teacher...Originally posted by NoTimeToWaitAr:how abt if u wana give up seat for some1, den u stand up and pat on tt person's shoulder and told them to sit. but they reject u. u hv already stand up. would u sit down again or juz stand all the way to ur stop ??
sometimes is hard to know whether tt person is really pregnant. ? . ?
Hmmm.... 1. I will grab a book or something to cover my face, or if I don't have anything, I'll just ignore all the stares...Originally posted by sinicker:i havent had the opportunity to give up my seat to the elderly, the pregnant or the mother with children. i don't encounter them in my MRT rides leh. i want to ask you guys what you would do in these scenarios.
