In simple terms, there are four popular brands of handguns:
Glock, Beretta, 1911 and Desert Eagle.
Usually terrorists use long arms, not pistols anyway. Unless you are talking about gangsters or hoodlums in USA, Thailand etc.. -
i think the colt 1911 used to be the standard pistol for the US armed forces and law enforcers since WW2 up till the vietnam war...correct me if i am worng but the early 1990 saw its final days as the Beretta took over its place.
Glock seems to be flavoured by the police departments of the Canadian borders and beaches of Florida...though may not be limited so.
but if terrorists or criminals can get hold of any automatic weapon it shall be the weapon they use against the masses and to achieve their ends. but i think osama and his lackeys uses the AK...they can make and sell it in their region -

The reasons why I pointed out Glock is because of its majority of plastic parts (though as pointed out by Ponders, not all parts are plastic). Any weapon from the Smith & Wesson Sigma series could also be the murder weapon, since its very, very similar to the Glock. -

As far as I know, Canadian RCMP uses Smith & Wesson 5946 (among many other models). Their RCMP Emergency Response team uses Browning HP or sometimes P225/9
Vancouver police department uses Glock dunno which model.
The others, i am not too sure.
Their Customs are unarmed. -
