7/10 people I know who own a toshiba send in their laptops for fan replacement. 1 of them happens to be from this forums.

Some laptops don't recieve good ratings for quietness.
Too bad, not enough research done... -
my problem was different toward the other extreme. The fan didn't turn on frequently enough, and then the laptop got overheat and hang.
so, quietness doesn't necessarily mean good thing. -

If it is noise, clean it. Bring it to authorized dealers to help you do it. Most laptop manufacturers make it clear that if you open up your laptop yourself, warranty card void.
If it is fan, bring it down to them also. They will see what's the problem and if necessary, replace the fan for you. -

got dust trapped and accumulated in there
jus bring to service centre to check and shun bian to clean the "nei zang" of the laptop.....
u may be surprised the amount of dust and dirt u can find inside and u wonder how they got in there........... -

Strange....how come i dun encountered such problems with my Toshiba notebook? It operates 24/7 for a 5years....maybe once a month shutdown one time or two...
