yeap i got the new IBM com with that 1.5mb planOriginally posted by apoc.feuer:Why??!! Here's why because SNBB started a 3.5MB Broadband plan and they only pay for $47 per month, however as a SNBB 1.5MB user I'm paying $58 per month.
I called up this morning and this sales agent told me that existing 1.5MB can only upgrade to this promo 6 months prior my contract ends, and when I told her, wa how can like that kind of jazz, she gave me a almighty attitude...."Oh, you plan is different because you get to get freebies you know!"
Arrgh I'm flabbergast by the way she answered me, I use to be a helpdesk call agent and I never spoke that way...Very sad....they least they could do is to allow existing users to let them upgrade to this plans so that most users stand to enjoy more bandwidth while surfing the web....give back to netizens like us...duh! Angry man
SH also that bad huh...sigh....too bad Qala have reserved quota for residental usersOriginally posted by seow:Starhub isn't any better.
Whichever choice you make, both still su.ck.
you sure about that in older HDB estates? I have been living for 20+ years and recently i got the 3.5Mbps from Singnet and it work wonder man no problem till now.Originally posted by ShutterBug:I've been with StarHub since they started their Surf For Free dial-up package way back years ago. Till now, my cable broadband with them has been trouble-free, and their support service is very good.
SingNet ADSL broadband according to so many of my friends and public, are problematic. Connection issues are the main pain, and some are issued with adsl modems that are either faulty, have poor techical support, or are just simply a weak product that can't function as intended.
Furthermore, I was told that in older HDB estates, adsl broadband connection issues are more likely because of old telephone wiring networks in the buidling.
So clearly, the advantage is with Starhub.

I'm in old estate and no problem with using ASL SNBB also... But ONE THING I've got to admit... Don't even encounter problems man... Cause some of their customer service can REALLY make YOUR BLOOD BOILOriginally posted by strikefreedom:you sure about that in older HDB estates? I think it more like user side problem rather then Singnet.![]()
The thing you got to note is if it is their server down, then there nothing they can do till they are up again, else any other problem solve it urself. Basically there not much thing that are not solveable at user side level by urself if you know how the basic things work. And to be truthful, it very very hard to solve technical problem over the phone especially if the user doen't know the technical terms that the customer service guy is talking about.Originally posted by Devil1976:I'm in old estate and no problem with using ASL SNBB also... You are getting a raw deal?Originally posted by Larry:I'm on PacNet ADSL. Currently paying $44++ for 512kbps Unlimited access. Looks like a case of carrot.
But come to think of it, its a dedicated line, and I've hardly seen any downtime minus the usual maintenance shutdowns. So I'm ok with this arrangement.![]()
