all along you are still thinking you were not in anyway wrong, just that it was your rotten luck that got you into trouble.Confronting the person who reported you make you so right aye? If you think the principal deserve punishment for abusing her authority,i hope MOE will give you further heavy punishment and blacklist you when you bring up the case.
I believe two wrongs does not make a right. Sure the kid may have made a mistake in cheating but there should be a reformative element in any punishment that the principal wants to mete out to the student. In this case I think injuring the student and leaving her in a cast goes way beyond trying to reform the student and getting her to see the error of her ways. In addition, warning the students not to tell their parents might mean that the school principal knew that her method was wrong (or maybe she can't be bothered to deal with noisy, complaining parents). I think there will be fair-minded and objective people in MOE who will hear both sides' stories out if the student decides to persue the matter.Originally posted by Aveme:shut up lah, childish kid

if she really truely admited to her mistake? why should she confront the person who reported her?Originally posted by LazerLordz:She admitted her mistake.Punishment meted out.
School overstepped boundaries when principal threatened her with de jure force.
Then my principal whacked me using a metal ruler 25 times in front of two classes until my hand skin tear and bled. It was also the mid year exams period and i could not write properly. the swollening of my hands also affected my joints. The pain did not fade for two months until august when the wrist was sort of disconnected from the joint and i had to wear a cast. (my vb playing made it worse). Are female students allowed to be caned in school publicly??? what should i do about this?[/b]This is not merely a matter of male or female, caning publicly or privately. To whack your hands with a metal ruler until bleeding, and to (even if indirectly) causing pain for two months and causing the wrist to be disconnected... this kind of punishment is 100% not acceptable by the Ministry of Education.
Me agreed! He's good!Originally posted by UltimaOnline:This is not merely a matter of male or female, caning publicly or privately. You are in Sec 3 now, which means you still have 2 years left in the school before you graduate. You have to carefully consider and decide whether you wish to complain against your principal or not. If your hand is now fully healed, you might want to play it safe and complain only after you graduate, or forgive your principal if she improves her behaviour. However, if your principal (is her first name Elaine?) is still carrying out such unacceptable punishments against students, then you might want to get your parent to complain to the Ministry of Education. (Ask your parent to call their phone number, and ask to speak to someone in MOE about this.)
I am a teacher in a Secondary school (not yours though). If it was in my school, I would not stand by and let students be abused like this, even if it is by the principal. Trust me when I say that the actions of your principal, as you described it, will not be tolerated by the Ministry of Education, especially by the current Minister for Education, Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
You can report her. Only suspension or detention is allowed for females. And what's more, you sustained injuries because of taht which affected you in your exams. I strongly suggest you report taht to MOE.Originally posted by fishyang:Last year i was involved in mass cheating in my class and i went to scold the girl who reported us. I was sec 2 then. Then that day i also went home and blogged about this incident, lamenting over my rotten luck but i did not mention any names or hints of who i was refering to.
The next day my principal called me to the office and scolded me becasue a parent had complained to her about what i wrote. I had also linked the school hate website in one entry and said that it was wrong of people to write such stuff about the school and i agreed about the lockers being small. Then she accused me for being anti-fairfield

My princiapal also whacked a few other students but their injuries were not as serious as mine. She told us taht she did not want to hear any parents complain. Isnt it a form of threatening????
Are female students allowed to be caned in school publicly???
what should i do about this?
I believe u can report her ba, since she hit u till your hands bled and skin tore. But before u decided to report her, ask yourself if u are in the wrong in the first place. what done is done, i believe this incident happen quite long ago le correcT? just let it cool down ba.. after all she has a job to earn a living.Originally posted by fishyang:how to report to moe???
will dey do anything????
That's besides the point.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:question is , is threadstarter a well behaved person? with a good track record? we need to have the principal's side of the story
Yes, her name is ELAINEOk, from the teachers viewpoint, our contact with MOE HQ is usually through official channel, which means through the office clerks, which means the principal will be informed and has to approve (principal's signature). Of course, in situations such as this in which you obviously have to bypass the principal, you could either go one level up to cluster superintendent (the one who supervises all the principals in the cluster; but your school does not seem to be part of a school cluster system), or directly to MOE HQ.
i scolded that gal who reported me because out of so many people who cheated. she only reported me. whcih meant she did it like for personal joy. i was then interrogated and forced to write down those who had cheated in the test as well. We cheated by askin the previous class what were the questions that were coming out in the common test.so what you're saying is you're not going to get mad at her if she reported on everyone else too? bullsh@t!

IF you really want to make an official complain...Originally posted by fishyang:no physical evidence but i have a lot of witness!!! can? and i have doctor letter that my hand got problem and its my right hand.
I am not talking abt equal rights and stuff here. the main focus is whether its allowed. Even jail offenders are not hit in public, am i worse then a criminal????
look at it this way.Originally posted by oldbreadstinks:look she isn't repentant at ALL, all she's saying is
"look , i'm already punished so lets forget about what i've done"
she doesn't feel thats she's done wrong, only that once she's punished it should be over , if i'm her father , girl or not i would have beaten the crap out of her
for me i'm ok if you're not punish when you really feel sorry for what you've done and you feel its wrong ,you won't do it again that sort of stuff
this girl is definately not that kind of person , basically she's just here to see how she can get back at the principal
so what you're saying is you're not going to get mad at her if she reported on everyone else too? bullsh@t!
or maybe you would feel better if she state that she did it out of honour ?
and lol being forced to write down those who had cheated as well , looks like you don't like them too much do you?
what the girl did was relevant , her intentions count as well as the initial caseOriginally posted by LazerLordz:look at it this way.
should the Principal get away with threats?I would call it criminal intimidation, school setting or not.
What the girl did is irrelevant. What is relevant is how the Principal dealt with the girl AFTER the summary discipline. That is the crux of the issue here.
Her intentions do not count, neither does the initial case.
